We made a good start to the season with a 3-3 draw in a friendly against Seaford, despite only having ten players available.
With Tom Ryan missing, the reorganised defence struggled in the opening ten minutes and we conceded two goals, but Ben Spring charged down an attempted clearance by the Seaford keeper and followed up to bring us back into the match.
Nick Edwards, playing his first game for the team, was first to a corner to get us level early in the second half, but we conceded an unnecessary corner shortly afterwards and went 3-2 down.
We had more of the chances - as Jamie Wickham started to get the better of the Seaford defenders - but we failed to convert them. Eventually Jamie Wickham scored the equaliser, folowing up a Michael Ide shot.
Having lost 7-3 to the same team at the start of last season, this result shows how much we've progressed. Jake Wesley made a very promising start in his new role at left back, but Nick Edwards was named man-of-the-match.
