Ben Spring stretches to clear against Langney Sports

A good performance away against runaway league leaders Langney Sports. We competed well for much of the match, and were unlucky to go behind about twenty minutes into the first half when we failed to clear, but we almost got back level when James Hutchinson hit the post.
All three substitutes were used at half time, including Chris Nissen who was making his debut for the team. We continued to match Langney but lacked the killer instinct in front of goal. We went 2-0 down to a well-struck free kick, but I was disappointed that the free kick was given away by a display of petulance similar to David Beckham's famous indiscretion against Argentina.
We continued battling, but the heads dropped a bit and Langney got stronger, as they had done in the home match, and we conceded two further goals.
Overall, we can't be too disappointed at losing 4-0 away to the top team in the division. There were lots of good battling performances again, typically from Tom Ryan and Greg Byrne, but also James Hutchinson who was our best player in the first half, and Chris Nissen who was man-of-the-match for his second-half performance.
