| The second match of a fairly confused end of season schedule was against a Forest Row team who had always looked more competent than their previous results against us had suggested. The first half started fairly evenly, but as the half went on Tonbridge began to dominate. Despite creating most of the chances, the finishing was unconvincing and when Forest Row brought on a substitute goalkeeper he was inspired. Forest Row went ahead in the 56th minute when Tonbridge were caught with three against one at the back. They got a second goal in the 75th minute and our chances of a comeback were reduced when Jamie Wickham was taken out of the game by a high tackle after we had used all our substitutions, but Ben Spring pulled a goal back, showing great determination in the last minute, but it was too late to find our scoring touch.
Brian Turner nominated Chris Newbury as man-of-the-match. |
