A great battling performance in our friendly against Otford Youth from the Tandridge League. I hadn't known that they had won their division last season, but it didn't take long to realise that they were easily the best team we have faced so far this season.
We were without our top goalscorer, Jamie Wickham, who had an appendectomy during the week, and we only had eleven players, which was a factor in the spring sunshine.
We were 4-0 down at the end of the first half, but we had a better shape in the second half when Chris Nissen moved into central midfield alongside Greg Byrne, and Ben Spring swapped places with Mark Harrison and moved into midfield. We conceded three further goals, but we spent more time in the opposition half and we had some good attacks.
Chris Nissen was chosen as man of the match, but there were great performances throughout the team.
