A great performance against Forest Row. The boys battled strongly for sixty minutes, and were unlucky to lose two goals towards the end of the match.
The back four was particularly strong in the first half, with James Hutchinson sometimes dropping back to give us a wall of five. We tackled everything that moved, while our front three caused Forest Row a few problems. Jamie Wickham forced a good save from their keeper towards the end of the first half.
We continued to contest well throughout the second half, and there were chances at both ends, but we went behind to a good finish with a quarter of an hour to go, and went further behind ten minutes later.
In a way it was a better performance that our 11-0 win last week. It was probably our best defensive performance this season, and Tom Ryan was man of the match for a typical terrier-like performance at the heart of the defence, but there were 11 other strong candidates. |
